My wife and I had never engaged in a remodeling effort to the scale we were faced with. We needed a “Mother-In-Laws” quarters attached to our existing home. Our design requirements were for a bedroom with a walk-in closet, a bathroom with a “roll-in” shower, a large front room with a nice kitchenette.
These all had to be handicap or wheel chair compatible. We perused various resources to inquire about a contractor who could handle a job the size of ours. We read their entire web page and found that they are a “design-to-build” company and decided that they had the credentials to answer to all of our needs. We called and set up an appointment for an interview.
We spoke with Mr. Rocky Dunn, President of Greenwood Contracting and found he was available the next day. He was very personable on the phone and showed a level of enthusiasm that was infectious. We met with him, as scheduled, and outlined what our rough plans were. He understood perfectly what our needs were, what our budget was and what had to be done. He explained that he would take our rough ideas, draw up some preliminary plans for our approval then put together an architectural drawing that he would submit to the county to acquire the appropriate permits. He explained his payment options clearly and we felt very comfortable with his approach and professional attitude.
The words that we would use to describe Greenwood Contracting first and foremost would be “ethical and honest” two things that are very difficult to find today. They were exceedingly professional from start to finish. They handled all the paperwork for the county. They found and coordinated all the various subcontractors and coordinated the job site scheduling. If there was an issue or delays we knew about it immediately. If we had a question or concern it was answered or corrected instantly. Working with Greenwood Contracting has been a complete and total success from start to finish. Our relationship with Rocky and his crew developed from a client-contractor relationship to a partnership.
The addition that Greenwood completed for us is 750 square feet. From ground breaking to occupancy inspection, construction only took a total of 48 working days and the job is perfect. Actually, it has more than exceeded ours and my mother-in-laws expectations thanks to Rocky’s creativity, insight and innovative thinking!
